Zera Childcare Foundation is a Lagos-based non-governmental organisation committed to ensuring that vulnerable children receive the medical care they need regardless of what their families can afford.
Our Story
Born from compassion.
Built on purpose.
Zera Childcare Foundation did not begin with a strategy. It began with a question a question that refused to go away: What happens to children whose parents cannot afford treatment when illness strikes?
That question became a calling. In 2021, the Foundation was established to stand in the gap for vulnerable children and their families to ensure that a child's chance at life is never reduced to a matter of finances.
Today, we operate with hands-on presence in government hospital paediatric units across Lagos, carrying that original calling forward-one child at a time.

A Message from
the Founder
In 2019, what would eventually become Zera Childcare Foundation began with a simple but deeply personal conviction: no child should be denied access to life-saving medical care because of financial hardship.
Over the years, I encountered families struggling to raise funds for surgeries, medications, investigations, and ongoing treatment for their children. While many wanted desperately to help their children, the financial burden was often overwhelming. These experiences inspired me to take action.
What started with a seed contribution of ₦50,000 and the support of nine individuals has grown into a registered foundation committed to supporting vulnerable children with critical healthcare needs. Since then, we have had the privilege of standing alongside families during some of their most challenging moments, providing financial assistance, hope, and encouragement when they needed it most.
At Zera, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to live, grow, dream, and reach their full potential, regardless of their family's circumstances. We are guided by compassion, accountability, integrity, and a commitment to ensuring that resources entrusted to us create meaningful impact in the lives of children and their families.
Our achievements would not have been possible without the generosity of donors, partners, volunteers, healthcare professionals, and supporters who share our vision. Every child we support is a reminder that collective compassion can transform lives.

Who We Serve
Children who need us most.
We support children aged 0–17 from low-income families who require access to medical care, therapeutic interventions, and other essential support services.
Our work includes assisting children receiving treatment in government-owned general hospitals across Lagos State, as well as children with special needs who require timely intervention and ongoing care. We prioritise cases where treatment, therapy, medication, or other interventions can significantly improve a child’s health, development, and quality of life.
